"Your Special Loss" is a story about recovery and finding hope. Holding strong and loosing myself. Placing it on an undeserved pedestal. Giving more yet breaking more. A fantasy never to come true. 'Hello dumbass ’ to myself — a fool to stay.
From a historical perspective, the Scandinavian jazz scene is one of the most distinguished, dynamic, and creative in European jazz. A prime example is Finnish saxophonist and composer Adele Sauros. With a prolific career, Sauros has been part of formations such as Katu Kaiku, Superposition, JAF Trio, and Jonathan Bäckström’s quartet. In 2012, she launched her own group: a quartet with a style that blends Nordic and American jazz traditions. The Adele Sauros Quartet has performed at major festivals in Northern Europe and in legendary venues like Montmartre in Copenhagen. They have also recorded several works. At Jamboree, Sauros will present her second album for the Barcelona-based Fresh Sound label, ‘Your Special Loss,’ as part of a European tour. With original compositions, ‘Your Special Loss’ reflects the melodic, lyrical, deep, and virtuosic character of the Adele Sauros Quartet.
