Guitarist and composer Ida Presti was admired by Django Reinhardt, and together with Alexander Lagoya she formed the foremost guitar duo of all time. This CD, the first recording of any of her own compositions, features the '12 Duos for Guitar'. They are performed by Stein-Erik Olsen and Olivier Chassain. The name of Ida Presti holds more than a touch of magic for guitar enthusiasts all over the world. She composed a number of works for the duo she formed with Alexander Lagoya. This music has not been available until the French guitarist and Professor of the Music Conservatory in Paris, Olivier Chassain cooperation with Norwegian guitarist and Professor of the Grieg Academy, Stein-Erik Olsen reconstructed these works for recording and publishing. Olivier Chassain and Stein-Erik Olsen are both students of Alexander Lagoya, and it is their painstaking work that has made it possible to bring this music out again. As an important extra bonus, Chassain and Olsen have been allowed to use the fantastic Bouchet guitars, built especially for Presti/Lagoya, when making this recording. Musée de la Musique in Paris hosted the recording sessions.
