The Flashcubes are a rock group that formed in 1977 in Syracuse, New York. Known for their catchy power pop style, they released several singles during the 70s until their breakup in 1980. Their inspiration from concurrent punk bands led to their nickname as the 'angry men of Syracuse'. The group, sometimes known as just 'The Cubes', reformed around the turn of the millennium and has had some highly successful touring, notably playing to big crowds in Japan. They've also recently released three retrospective CDs, a live disc, and an anthology of obscure older tracks. Their latest studio album is 2012's 'Brilliant'.
