Irish Coffee originated from another band called "The VooDoo". This heavy band made the region of Aalst Belgium unsafe in the early sixties with American and British rock'n'roll covers. They also played covers of , The Beatles and The RollingStones." Former member Dirk Dierickx recalls "the foreign offerings were so good at that time we hardly ever thought of writing our own stuff".
Irish Coffee was then formed in 1970 with composer William Souffreau. As "Wit-Lof from Belgium" acknowledges, Irish Coffee was "one of the best hard-rock groups Belgium had and has had ever since."
The group disbanded after the death of keyboards-player Paul Lambert, only releasing one album and a few singles, all collector items…..
