Amsterdam drummer Eric Schuijt steps into the shoes of his great example Buddy Rich. With a new big band, that swings in the style of the drum legend. American jazz drummer Buddy Rich (1917-1987) is still unsurpassed when it comes to energy and technique, but also because of the way he lifted up his big band to great heights.

For years, Eric Schuijt has intensively studied the style and techniques of Buddy Rich. His big band features musicians known from formations such as Ploctones, Cubop City Big Band, Nueva Manteca, and Young Metropole. The program includes works by renowned Buddy Rich arrangers, such as Don Menza and John LaBarbera.
