Guitarist Konstantinos Stouraitis and organist Panagiotis Smarnakis met in 2018 through their mentor, Giorgos Kontrafouris.
Through their shared love for the Hammond Organ and especially for the sound of Jimmy Smith/Wes Montgomery & Larry Young/Grant Green they started to find their own personal sound and write their own compositions resulting in the recording of their first personal album "Red Room" which was released in 2024 by Irida Jazz.
Graduates of the Ionian University, from 2018 until today the young musicians keep alive the tradition of the Jazz Organ Trio and have performed in many clubs and Greek festivals such as Rhodes Jazz Festival, Syros Jazz Festival, Notos Jazz Festival, Afrikana etc.
"This organ trio is a perfect example of the continuation of the jazz organ tradition that started in 1955 with Jimmy Smith. These three gentlemen show great respect at that tradition, but also have a personal touch and a fresh sound.”
