Vedan Kolod - Birds (2024)

Making traditional folk songs from Siberia accessible to a wider audience has been the mission of the family folk ensemble Vedan Kolod since 2005. Many of their songs are based on centuries - old folk tunes and have been rearranged by the ensemble. For a long time, Vedan Kolod consisted of the musicians Tatiana Naryshkina, Daryana Antipova and Valerii Naryshkin. Alisa Naryshkina has been a new member since this album.
Vedan Kolod come from Siberia and are part of a whole family group. The ensemble represents the musical culture of Siberian Russia, where instrumental music is closely interwoven with the vocal tradition and the unique old songs that have been preserved for centuries. Band member
Valerii Naryshkin also restores rare folk instruments such as the Scythian harp, the war horn, the hornpipe, the bagpipe, the drum, the gusli, the hurdy - gurdy and others.
