Of Songs spans warm, enriching and otherwise melancholy indie folk from visual artist and musician Nathaniel Russell. Russell made the album with long-time friend Amelia Meath, spending just over a week creating sounds equivalent to the kaleidoscopic imagery in the lyrics, which related to a concept the Indiana-based artist had, imagining the type of music that his funeral would feature. The album's rich layers feature clarinet, saxophone and more.
