Brooklyn duo Russian Baths (Jess Rees and Luke Kos) have announced the follow-up to their 2019 debut. Russian Baths is a New York band in the tradition of Television, Sonic Youth and Blonde Redhead nurtured by the same scene as Bambara, Water from Your Eyes and the Wants.

They’re named after the iconic co-owned bathhouse that itself reflects the dark and light histories of the city.

Russian Baths write cryptic, melodic post punk punctuated by noise and eerie soundscapes. Their first album, "Deepfake," was released in November 2019. "Split" is the first single from their forthcoming second album, Mirror, to be released later this year.

Russian Baths is Jess Rees (Activity), Luke Koz, and Kyle Garvey. For fans of Blonde Redhead, the Cure, Protomartyr, Spirit of the Beehive, Dry Cleaning and other music.

Powered by a brooding bassline, first single “Split” is an alluring slice of dark atmosphere. Say the band: “People copy people. People are copies of people. People avoid their reflections. People are reflections of other people. People don’t look at people unless they really want to, even if you give them money.”
