It's library music, recorded to be used as incidental music for TV, film, adverts etc.
DeWolfe specialised in these types of recordings & the late Johnny Hawksworth was one of the best known & most successful artists in the field. He seemed to be able to turn his hand to any style of music & has a huuuuge discography. The Rouge label was the DeWolfe company's own imprint.
'Knockout' likely never existed as a true band, just an umbrella name used for the different session musicians used for these recordings. DeWolfe always used the very best players.
Library records were only usually distrbuted within the industries they were intended for, so the size of the pressings were quite modest as a result. They're now highly prized by collectors & DJ's & can command quite high prices depending on the style of music represented & scarcity. ~riptorn
