Devils & Soehne (Devils And Sons)
Are A Group Of 5 Musicians From A Little Town Called Calw In The Black Forest Area Of Germany. They Play A Mixture Of Old Fashioned Honky Tonk And Wes-Tern Swing. Their Music Is Characterized By Catchy Melodies Composed By Song Writer Steve Mcbread And By The Other Highly-Talented Band Members: The Accordion Player, Mr. Blue "Lightning" Squeeze, Is Originally From The Black Forest Blues Scene. Drummer Andy "Boonkid" Jackson Is One Of Europe's Most Sought-After Drummers And Is Often On Tour With Other Bands. F.A. "The Lap" Miller Is One Of The Hottest Specialists In Guitars / Banjos / Mandolins. Last But Not Least, H.P. "El Bajo" Jackson, With His Old-Style Stand-Up Bass From Hungary That Even Survived Joseph Stalin And The Cold War, Rounds Out The Rhythm Section. Says Band Leader Steve Mcbread, "In The Beginning We Usually Played Just For Fun At All Kinds Of Parties."
Now It's The Purpose Of The Band To Entertain Western-Swing-Fans Of All Ages. "We Want To Provide Fun And Entertainment With Our Music, Not Hard And Noisy, But Easy And Swinging." "We Focus Very Much On Our Own Songs." Approximately Half Of The Songs They Play Are Originals. The Others Are Covers From The 30's Through The Early 50's. When Devils & Soehne Perform Live, It's Not Only About Music. "We Try To Create A Kind Of Hillbilly-Atmosphere On Stage," Says F.A. "The Lap" Miller. So, They Wear Jackets, Hats, Cowboy Boots, And Smoke Cigars From Time To Time. Even The Instruments Fit To The Music. The Actual Bass, Guitar, Banjo And Lap Steel Instru-Ments Are All Very Aged And May Be Able To Tell A Lot Of Stories From Smoke-Filled-Honky Tonk Music Bars All Over Germany. Proof Of This Are The Numerous Concerts The Band Performed In Germany, Switzerland And In The Usa, Where The Devils Convinced Audiences With Their Authenticity.
Devils And Soehne Surely Are A Hot Spot In The Live-Music Scene.
