Bbfc (the Bad Barry Finnerty Collective) was formed in 2011 by former Miles Davis/Crusaders/Brecker Bros guitarist Barry Finnerty. In addition to BF on guitar and vocals, the band features German all-star players Jost Nickel (drummer with platinum act Jan Delay), Arnd Geise on bass and Lutz Krajenski on Hammond B-3 and keyboards. Accompanied by 3 horn players, they recorded their first CD 'Nothing's Gonna Be All Right' in January 2012, and it was released in Europe on the Birdland label in November 2014. The material ranges from soulful new versions of classics from the 60's such as the title song, Mose Allison's 'I Don't Worry About A Thing ('Cause I Know Nothing's Gonna Be All Right), 3 more by Mose, and a 12 minute psychedelic/jazz/funk version of 'Riders On The Storm' by the Doors, to three 80's hits by Barry's old band-mates The Crusaders, and three brand new originals written by Barry and his wife Clarita Zarate. One of the 3 originals, 'The Hippies Tried', was recorded in Oakland CA with The Killers and Blondie producer (and former Green Day manager) Jeff Saltzman at the controls. From a modern day perspective, it takes a trip back to the golden years of San Francisco in the 60's. Bbfc is a band that puts a heavy emphasis on GROOVE, and on playing TOGETHER like a REAL BAND! The musicianship and material are excellent throughout; there is no filler. Everyone who has heard the band so far has really liked it. We hope you will too! There are two videos of songs from the CD up on YouTube so far. We shot and edited them ourselves and we think they are quite entertaining! If you search 'Bbfc - I Don't Worry' and 'Bbfc - I Hate My Baby' you will easily find them. Enjoy!
