Olof Melander releases his first album for PLX Records and it is a beautiful album with lush landscapes and rich textures.


With a background in experimental beat making Olof has developed a sound world of it´s own. Although packed with experimental, electronic sounds, loops, wild percussion and quirky noises the ablum is yet soothing and transcendetal. This is truly a 17-track masterpiece balancing on cosmic threads spun between ambient, free jazz, experimental electronica.

Joined by Aquiles Navarro, a New York-based trumpeter, composer and DJ of Panamanian heritage they have created a magic jungle of music. Aquiles Navarro derives his sounds from folkloric music, salsa, and reggae. Navarro has a duo project with Brooklyn-based drummer Tcheser Holmes and is also a part of Irreversible Entanglements. He is the CEO & Founder of River Down Records, a label that focuses on documenting and expanding the creative sounds and minds of Panamá.

For the album "Tangles" Navarro plays trumpet and percussion on 8 tracks and also sings on the track "Corazon". His improvised trumpet melodies expands and brings a soulful and soothing flavour to Olof Melanders already mind-boggling, experimental beats and landscapes, a match made for all lovers of both experimental electronic music and jazz.
