"Monty's been homeless for a while now, so earlier this year I let her stay with me for a few months. I vividly remember her sitting in my closet for entire DAYS without sleeping, recording demos with her guitar and my cheap plastic keyboard. It was beautiful to watch that blossom into such an ambitious album with a MASSIVE instrumentation.
This album is fusion without sacrifice. It's latin roots are not watered down by the elements of noise rock, jazz, and western classical. Monty's identity is also not watered down, her experiences and INTENSE emotions put forth through this album never cancel each other out. It was such an honor to have my own identity, musically and personally, be a part of that fusion. I got to play soprano/tenor sax and bass clarinet alongside some insanely talented horn players, and all the keyboard parts including some wiiilldd improv on an upright piano. I even got to scream my ass off in the vocal booth. Very excited for this to be out in the world."- Sean Hoss
