The vocal group Guys 'n' Dolls was formed in November 1974, with British singers Paul Griggs, David Van Day, Dominic Grant, Thereza Bazar, Martine Howard, and Julie Forsyth all comprising the original lineup. Released in January 1975, the debut single "There's a Whole Lot of Loving" became a worldwide hit for the group, peaking at Number 2 in the UK and Ireland while charting within the Top 20 in America, South Africa, Belgium, Canada, and the Netherlands. A self-titled album was released that same year. Although a 1976 cover of Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" marked Guys 'n' Dolls' final hit in the UK, the group enjoyed sustained popularity in the Netherlands and Belgium, where "You're My World" became a Number 1 hit in 1977. Van Day and Bazar left the group that same year to launch the successful duo Dollar, enjoying a run of Top 10 hits in the UK through the late '80s. Meanwhile, Guys 'n' Dolls forged ahead as a quartet, opening for Frank Sinatra in 1978 and scoring seven additional Top 40 hits in the Netherlands before breaking up in 1985.
