Recorded at a wildlife sanctuary, 'Bundanon' is a response to New South Wales' breathtaking scenery made from looped guitar drones and detailed field recordings. Following up their releases for 12k, Sydney's Cameron Webb (aka Seaworthy) and Western Australia's Matt Rösner return with their most pastoral deployment to date. The duo were on a week-long residency at Bundanon Art Gallery and wildlife sanctuary when they assembled this one, prompted to improvise with the local environment in mind. So they took recordings of the local bushland and river and merged it with material captured on two guitars. If you've heard the duo's previous recordings, the tone of this one won't be a huge surprise, but working in longer form, Webb and Rösner sound as if they've been opened up. The environmental recordings are subtle, but the swaying guitar work is even more hushed, oozing between watery gurgles and crunching undergrowth. Quite lovely.
