Also known as “The Architect of Rock & Roll,” “The Georgia Peach,” and “The Living Flame,” Little Richard stands alone in the annals of music history. He recorded some of the most iconic songs and sounds ever heard, and was the originator who inspired legions to pursue music, blurred racial lines, and sent America into an uproar over his mix of church music, R&B beats, blaring vocals, and New Orleans-­fired boogie-­woogie. This edition compiles the cream of Little Richard’s 1950s Specialty recordings. The music on our CD was compiled for release in the UK into a seven-­volume collection of four-­track EPs, which appeared on the London label between 1957 and 1960. This quintessential release also includes 2 bonus tracks, consisting of hard to find singles issued by London during the same period.
