S. F. Sorrow is the fourth album by the British rock band The Pretty Things, released in 1968. The album is initially a concept album, the concept of which describes the life and suffering of a fictional character named Sebastian F. Sorrow. However, despite its conceptual nature, the album is also a rock opera, written, composed and recorded before the release of the rock opera "Tommy" by The Who. After the release of the album in the UK (in the second half of 1968), The Who released the rock opera "Tommy" (in 1969), which, unlike "S. F. Sorrow", quickly conquered the European and American public. As a result of the late release in the USA, the album began to be perceived as an imitation of "Tommy" and was practically unknown.
