DJBLACKMETA - BLACKOUT (2024)

DJBLACKMETA begins from the premise “homecoming leads to revelations.” It is the multimedia collaborative vehicle for travis and Jordan Reyes, both of the long-running gospel industrial band ONO. Solidified as a moniker and idea while on a homecoming trip to Itawamba County, Mississippi in August 2023, DJBLACKMETA interrogates Southern culture, history, transhumanism, jazz, hip hop, and more through word, sound, and visuals. Its first two editions are the albums “AMMO” and “BLACKOUT,” released digitally on 26AUG24.

“BLACKOUT” is a more suite-like series of compositions, recorded at La Frette Studios with Anthony Cazade and features Nick Zanca, Lucy Liyou, Brad Feuerhelm, Anthony Cazade, and Sammy Borst. It was mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis studios.
