Made up of Zach Schmidt and Jackie Berkley, the husband-and-wife duo Golden Everything embody all that’s precious about making music with one’s partner. Their voices blend in a way that only comes from knowing someone’s soul, lyrics read like whispered vows, and live performances are as rhythmic as a heartbeat. The band’s single “No One But You” introduces Golden Everything and captures the magic of the couple’s bond. It’s a warm, comforting declaration of commitment to each other, with Zach and Jackie singing, “I never wanted no kind of trouble/Cause I never wanted no one but you.” Neither will ever stray, because they each have everything they need.

That clasping of hands was the birth of Golden Everything, a duo built on the interplay between Jackie’s honeyed, lilting voice and Zach’s gruff, seen-it-all pipes. But Golden Everything hits different for both Zach and Jackie. To sing together, as husband and wife, is to come home, and you hear that throughout “No One But You.” Over the next year, they’ll slowly release a collection of songs, each produced by Jesse Noah Wilson, that they’re referring to as Sweet Old World. It’s a chance to explore new sounds, new genres, and be playful. “This project is about having the freedom to be open and see the shine in everything,” Jackie says.
