He demonstrated this beautifully on Folklore I: The Waving Days, released two years ago, which impressed with subdued and enchanting folk and blues with an occasional outburst. Its successor Folklore II: The Phantom Wail is even more impressive.

Once again, Robin Borneman makes music with influences mainly from folk, blues and rock. Folklore I was already a strikingly visual album, but on the second part Robin Borneman pulls out all the stops and makes you part of a musical journey of discovery along mainly pitch-dark places. It results in an impressive album that continues to gain in power, intensity and beauty for a long time to come.

Robin Borneman is great with the Trans Siberian Orchestra, but deserves even more respect for his excellent solo work, which has reached an even higher level with Folklore II.
