"Light Sleeper is an exciting composition based on a mixed meter bassline ostinato of 9/4 (5/4 + 4/4). However, during Sergio’s solo, the meter changes to a 4/4 + 5/4 feeling over which Sergio plays an electrifying solo using the rhythmic phrasing of the groove to play off of. His decision at times to leave space helps intensify the band’s energy leading beautifully into a contrasting guitar solo by Davy that floats over the top of the original ostinato established at the beginning of the song. For the final solo before the grand finale, David comes in showing great patience while the rhythm sections provides a nice cushion of energy and groove. He builds his solo in a very exciting way leading to the coda where Stockton starts his solo using beautiful textures capturing the Lydian sound provided by the rest of the band. Using hip cross-rhythms, he builds his solo into a counting-challenge of a last few bars resulting in an unexpected but satisfying last chord. "
