“The reason you are reading this is our common love for good music – especially for JAZZ. I’m so happy to share this love with you .. !” Johny Carlsson, a devout jazz fan, born and raised in Sweden and, since his early teens, a wannabe jazz player. All of the jazz greats and jazz styles have a place in his heart. However, ever since he first heard the great trombone player J.J. Johnson with the Miles Davis’ group and then, later on, J.J. and Kai Winding in the Jay & Kai Quintet, in the Septet and, on the eight bones recordings, the mighty sound of a trombone group playing jazz has fascinated him. - Writing music for, and playing with a professional trombone group became his teenage “pipe dream”.
