To celebrate its 12th anniversary in style, the Ame des Poètes trio, well-known amongst fans of both jazz and chanson française, is releasing its fifth and double album “PRENOMS D’AMOUR” on IGLOO.

The group is known for its instrumental adaptations of chanson française classics that leave a lot of room for improvisation while keeping intact the emotions of the original versions. On this occasion, special guests were invited to the recordings: Sylvain Luc on guitar, Stéphane Belmondo on the bugle, the Smeulders & Smeulders accordion duo and Claude Flagel on the hurdy gurdy.

After Brel and Brassens, the theme this time is not the repertoire of one songwriter but a double theme of love songs and first names. Through the magic of music, some first name song titles find themselves caught in love stories to which they didn’t originally belong. That is how we see “Dominique-nique-nique, Tu te laisses aller à parler au Téléfon avec Gaston et les Filles de Camaret, les Filles de mon pays, Pour un flirt avec Zizi (Jeanmaire?).” From the first tune, the contact is immediate. The listeners and musicians embark on a musical journey that combines humour and emotions in an inimitable style, creating a unique complicity between the two.
