Cloud Over Jupiter - Atomic Jupiter (2024)

The fourth (and, in my opinion, the best!) an album of the project by guitarist Jerry King (Dave Newhouse's collaborator in all his recent albums and bands), where he gathered the most diverse musicians - from Rick Parnell (from Spinal Tap) and Richie Castellano (Blue Oyster Cult) before Newhouse (The Muffins) and Sean Rickman (Steve Coleman). The music that the band presented was no less versatile: from quite melodic material of almost pop-rock format to pretty instrumental trinkets of a rather avant-garde kind.
Atomic Jupiter is a great entry point for anyone who is not yet familiar with the strange and wonderful universe of Jerry King. A great balance between the mainstream and experimentation. Avant-rock with a human face and a slight tilt to jazz, then to prog.
