Nubiyan Twist - Find Your Flame (Deluxe Edition) (2024)

The band Nubiyan Twist has released their fourth album titled Find Your Flame. It mixes global grooves, soul and jazz, and features electronic elements and improvisations. The album highlights vocalist Aziza Jay adding a new dimension of patois and RnB. The album also features collaborations with Nile Rodgers and Seun Kuti. The songs on the album display different genres such as broken rhythm, reflective lyrics, highlife and sukus. Elements of grime and hip-hop are also present, and the album concludes with a collaboration with Salif Keita's former backing vocalist Mamani Keita, who contributes elements of traditional Malian music. Making the album was a cathartic experience for the band as they have gone through many difficulties such as COVID-19, a leg amputation and the loss of loved ones. The album was produced by Tom Exell and mixed by Oli Barton Wood and Paulo Germano.
