Felipe Orjuela - El Derroche (2023) [Hi-Res]

Bogota-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Felipe Orjuela is releasing his debut solo album, El Derroche, on September 8. The album, produced in collaboration with Colombian artist Iván Medellín, showcases Orjuela's fascination with reinterpreting traditional tropical music and blending it with contemporary styles from Colombia, South America, and beyond. With eight tracks, El Derroche explores a diverse range of tropical rhythms, including guaracha, chalupa, cumbia sabanera, and salsa, among others. The album features collaborations with notable Colombian musicians such as Gabriela Ponce, InDiazo, Fintas, Gato 'e Monte, Yeison Perilla, and more. Orjuela's unique approach to bridging the gap between past and present creates a refreshing and vibrant sound that pays homage to the roots of tropical music while embracing modern influences.
