Re-Encuentro, which originated from Lalo Cortés' deep introspection during her graduate thesis, explores her identity as a black woman in Bogota and her journey as a singer. Drawing on the relationship between Hip-Hop and Jazz, Cortés delves into her origins, ancestry, experiences, raciality, and gender in the context of Bogota. This personal exploration culminates in an album comprising seven songs that serve as reflections on her identity and experiences. Through this artistic expression, Cortés establishes herself as an Afro-Bogota woman, embracing her racial and cultural background.
