XZonn, Bernard Paganotti, Bertrand Lajudie, Antoine Paganotti - ONDES (2024) [Hi-Res]

After their adventures in the 80s and 90s with Paga Group, Bernard Paganotti and Bertrand Lajudie have reunited to create a new recording project. Titled Ondes, this album of electric and organic instrumental music was born from their desire to work collaboratively. Joined by drummer Antoine Paganotti, the bassist and keyboardist began with trio improvisations, exploring different moods and rhythmic ideas to uncover inspiring arrangements. Through this collaborative process, musical cells emerged, giving rise to distinct pieces after careful structuring and development. Each track on the album is arranged in multiple sections, highlighting the importance of collective playing and interaction, with solo parts, though brief, blending harmoniously into the whole. Initially recorded live as a trio, the pieces were later enhanced with various sound elements (keyboards, woodwinds, guitars, and programming) that added color and depth to the raw material captured in the moment. Ondes thus represents the result of this unique work, placing synergy at the heart of the musical creation.
