C.A.R. - Bäckerei 2000 (2026) [Hi-Res]

The German group C.A.R., based between Cologne and Berlin, is releasing the vinyl album “Bäckerei 2000” on the label Planet Akwa. The band works at the crossroads of krautrock, jazz, and electronic music, and the new record continues its exploration of polyrhythm and electronic textures: rhythmic impulses collide with dense layers of sound, producing music that is at once organic and tightly structured.

The sonic foundation consists of motorik-style drumming, delay-drenched synth pads, and expressive saxophone. This lets the album shift between driving grooves and open, improvisational passages, while structured interludes that recur throughout give the overall flow shape and contour.

The group’s discography has already taken a number of stylistic turns, and its collaborators include the producer René Tinner, which ties the project to the history of the German experimental scene and the world of NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle). On “Bäckerei 2000,” C.A.R. sharpens its own signature — a play of repetition and variation in which traditional motorik elements meet contemporary electronic interventions. For listeners drawn to sophisticated music that defies genre boundaries, it is an accessible way into the band’s world.
