The Ides Of March - Midnight Oil (2024) [Hi-Res]

Chicago based group that originally formed in the mid-sixties as a garage band. Their sound progressed through psychedelic pop rock, and blue eyed soul. At the beginning of the 70's they were signed to Warner / Reprise and released a number of LP's that would best be described as jazz-rock over the next decade.

The final album (until their reunion album in 1993) from the band finds them desperately in search of a hit while still trying to reinvent themselves as an acoustic-dominated, laidback kind of organization. Poco's Rusty Young guests on both metal-bodied dobro and steel guitar.
