The Silver Anniversary Collection is a collection of the best songs by the legendary British-American rock band Whitesnake, solo songs by David Coverdale and the duo Coverdale & Page. The two-disc box set includes songs recorded between 1978 and 2003. Whitesnake is a British—American rock band playing hard rock with blues elements, formed in 1977 by David Coverdale, former vocalist of the legendary Deep Purple. Performance skills, backed up by pop melodies and driving guitar passages, are the most characteristic features of the hard rock sound of the 80s, which were fully embodied in the work of the British band Whitesnake and its frontman David Coverdale. In whatever terms the Whitesnake style is described - pop metal, heavy metal, stadium rock or metal blues - by and large they played chunky hard rock, saturated with first-class guitars and enhanced by the beautiful emotional vocals of David Coverdale.
