Bosque Sound Community - 12 Angry Mushrooms (2024) [Hi-Res]

Bosque Sound Community, formed in 2015 by bassist Milosh Bosnic, combines the cream of the Belgrade-based jazz collective with the principle of creating original music. 12 Angry Mushrooms is the latest release from Italian label A.MA Records as part of the Serbian Wave album series. Consisting of five tracks, all written by Milosh himself, the album features Stevan Milianovic on keys, Aleksa Milianovic on drums, percussionist Aleksandar Radulovic, Aleksandar Petkovic on soprano saxophone, and the sublime artistry of flutist Milena Jancuric. All these artists, coming together at the peak of their abilities, deliver the album 12 Angry Mushrooms with exquisitely crafted music, none more evident than in the opening track and lead release, the 15-minute opus titled San Francisco Waltz. An astonishing piece in the jazz fusion style that will please fans of Chick Corea, Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report, and Wayne Shorter, San Francisco Waltz takes the listener on a musical labyrinth journey as it starts with keys, drums, bass, and soprano saxophone, joined by amazing percussion breaks and flute solos. With such a strong opening track, the rest of the album reaches even greater heights, passing through the concise brilliance of the two-part title track, the calming effect of Please One For Goodbye, and the heavily percussive Arsen D. 12 Angry Mushrooms will be released on A.MA Records on December 20, with San Francisco Waltz available for pre-order from the 13th of this month. This is a must-have album that further establishes A.MA Records as a jazz label and Belgrade as a city where jazz becomes rugged from its core.
