Jack Walrath Quintet - At Umbria Jazz Festival, Vol. 1 (1983) [Hi-Res]

On the first of two albums, trumpeter Jack Walrath (along with trombonist Glen Ferris, pianist Michael Cochrane, bassist Anthony Cox and drummer Mike Clark) stretch out on two of the leader's originals (including the nearly 27-minute "John Agar") and Cochrane's "Two in One." The playing is excellent but little all that memorable actually occurs on this worthwhile but average postbop set.
