Marcel Wave is an English band formed by Lindsay Corstorphine and Christopher Murphy of Sauna Youth, and brothers Oliver and Patrick Fisher of Cold Pumas. Their debut album is a walk in the pub where the focus is on the listener. The lyrics, written by Micah Hale-Jones, have a sense of foreboding, elegy and sarcasm. The themes of urban renewal, decay, and disillusionment are evident in the songs. The lyrics describe the actresses' various fates and reflect existential dread. The musical accompaniment consists of bells, whistles, bass and rhythms. The album invites the listener to immerse themselves in social decay and then relax in a pleasant environment.
