Ace Cannon, hailed as the "Godfather of Sax" by Sam Phillips and Joe Coughi, is a legendary saxophonist known for his 1962 instrumental hit "Tuff." Born in Grenada, Mississippi, he began playing saxophone at age 10 and rose to prominence with the Bill Black Combo in 1959, appearing on iconic TV shows like The Ed Sullivan Show and American Bandstand. Over his career, he recorded 67 albums and 46 singles, including Grammy-nominated works and collaborations, such as a historic duet album with trumpeter Al Hirt.

Cannon's repertoire spans rockabilly, rock and roll, country, pop, blues, and jazz. He was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Rock and Soul Hall of Fame in 2000, and the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame in 2008. His hometown, Calhoun City, began hosting the annual Ace Cannon Festival in 2007 in his honor. When not touring, Cannon enjoys playing golf near his home.
