Mad Rey - please don't wait (2025)

A decade after making his debut on D.KO Records, Quentin Leroy brings his Mad Rey project back to the storied deep house imprint for the first time in four years. This time round, he's focused on club-ready dancefloor tools, with all but one of the tracks on offer appearing in 'dub mix' form. In general, that means locked-in deepness is the order of the day, with the wonderfully tactile 'Deeper (dub mix)', analogue-rich and acid-smothered 'Sunday Blues 1 (dub mix)', dark and nasty 'Tuesday Good Day (dub mix)' and raw, tech-tinged 'Please Don't Wait (dub mix)' standing out. There are a couple of intriguing diversions, though - see the breathless alien techno of 'Longplay (dub mix)' and deep drum-and-bass-jazz of 'Luv Dub Mix (dub mix)'.
