Dem Ensemble - Erguvan - Turkish Musical Traditions (2013)

This recording by the DEM Ensemble expands the DEM Trio to include Atilla Akinturk and Erdem Simsek. It is dedicated to historic music culture of Istanbul reflecting an interesting mixture from the Byzantine, Ottoman and Turkish Republic periods.

The repertoire covers melodies from throughout all of Anatolia and the Aegean but is unified in the representation of all these regional cultures in the cosmopolitan structure of Istanbul.
