Don Cherry - Dollar and Okay's Tune (Live Paris in 1971) (2023) [Hi-Res]

Don Cherry explores Turkish rhythms alongside Turkish drummer Okay Temiz and South African bassist Johnny Dyani in a 1971 Paris recording by the Don Cherry Trio. Remastered from original BYG Records material, the LP was produced in Istanbul under Okay Temiz's supervision, the trio's sole surviving member. It is part of a "Turkish Jazz Trilogy," following Temiz's Oriental Wind at Montreux Jazz Festival 1982 LP. This release is a pivotal precursor to Cherry's iconic Organic Music Society (1973), showcasing the trio's improvisational mastery and Cherry's signature blend of trumpet and piano.
