This is klezmer music that can't decide if it wants to go heavy metal or run off with jazz great Stan Getz. There are so many musical elements at work here (namely, trumpet, clarinet, and banjo), that the result is a giddy sonic melting pot where anything and everything goes. The Arabic jazz fusion sound in "Kabbalah Dream" flows into a vague suggestion of Dixieland in "Floating Sabbath." Elsewhere, the hints of Duke Ellington in "Sa'Dawi" break down into a string of rock bass riffs. It's all one big, happy world in the imagination of producer/visionary Paul Brody.
