Oh People - Part-Time Elegance (2025) [Hi-Res]

Denmark’s premier jazz label, April Records, is set to release the debut album of 2025 from the newly formed quintet Oh People on January 17th. Drawing inspiration from Duke Ellington’s 1920s works and blending them with modern sounds infused with joy and love, their album "Part Time Elegance" features a mix of deep swing, heartfelt ballads, vibrant Latin grooves, and cheerful melodies. The music pays homage to the golden age of jazz while showcasing lively improvisations from Denmark’s top emerging soloists.

Oh People consists of highly respected young musicians:

Jonas Due (trumpet) known for his work with the DR Big Band and the contemporary group OTOOTO.
Andreas Toftemark who honed his skills in New York, has released two solo albums, won the prestigious Bent Jædig Prize, and remains one of Denmark’s most active artists.
Casper Christensen blends jazz tradition with Brazilian influences on guitar, collaborating with artists like Nana Rashid and Jesper Lødval, and leading his own quartet.
Lasse Mørck has three solo albums inspired by South American music, literature, and mythology.
Henrik Holst brings over a decade of experience from groups such as the Kathrine Windfeld Big Band and collaborations with international jazz legends like Mike Stern and Gilad Hekselman.

Together, Oh People promises a powerful and original jazz experience that bridges traditional and contemporary influences, reflecting the rich and innovative Danish jazz scene.
