Felipe Silva Mena, born in 1993 in Chile, is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in mandolin, guitar, and double bass. He began playing music at 13 and studied in Argentina at the Escuela de Musica Popular de Avellaneda before returning to Chile in 2013 to attend the Escuela Superior de Jazz. Since 2014, he has been based in Lyon, France, where he completed his studies at the Conservatoires of Bourgoin-Jallieu and Lyon. Felipe is active as a leader and sideman in various jazz and classical projects in France.

He has earned recognition, including a Special Mention at the Jazz à Vienne Competition (2021) and the Jury’s Coup de Cœur at the JazzContreBand Competition (2019). His second album, Racconto, features his original compositions, blending jazz with South American influences. The album expands his trio—comprising Michel Molines (double bass) and Adrien Bernet (drums)—with harpist Mélanie Virot and a string trio (Loni Cornelis on violin, Chiara Feverati on viola, and Lila Beauchard on cello), creating an enchanting and richly textured musical experience deeply rooted in jazz.
