Andy Middleton is a top-tier saxophonist and jazz composer based in Europe, praised by Randy Brecker as “one of the strongest tenor and soprano saxophonists on the scene.” His music blends contemporary expression with deep roots in jazz tradition, combining lyrical beauty, rhythmic drive, and harmonic sophistication. Middleton has collaborated with jazz legends such as Ralph Towner, Kenny Wheeler, and Dave Holland, and performed with numerous acclaimed artists, including Billy Hart, Maria Schneider, and Bob Mintzer. Originally from Harrisburg, PA, he earned degrees in jazz saxophone and composition from the University of Miami. After nearly two decades in the New York jazz scene, he moved to Vienna in 2006, where he serves as a professor at the University for Music and Art of the City of Vienna.
