Peter Rehberg - Liminal States (2025) [Hi-Res]

Rehberg's *Liminal States* is a dynamic, long-form ambient score, blending spectral electronics with shifting, hallucinatory dread. The first part builds a shimmering electronic foundation, while the second part fractures into diverse sonic effects, creating a deep psychological exploration of sound and space. Comparable to Coil’s late-period works like *Time Machines*, it maintains Rehberg’s unique sonic identity while delivering a singular, immersive listening experience.

*Editions Mego* presents a previously unreleased soundtrack by Rehberg, created for Icelandic choreographer Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir, marking the final collaboration before his passing in 2021. Originally composed for the 2018 performance *Pervasive Magnetic Stimuli*, the work was revisited as the foundation for *Liminal States* (2024). The composition is rooted in Guðjónsdóttir’s research into altered perception and phenomenological embodiment, forming the conclusion of a trilogy exploring unconscious forces. The trilogy includes *Pervasive Magnetic Stimuli* (2018), *Boundless Ominous Fields* (2024), and *Liminal States* (2024).
