David Lord - Forest Standards Vol. 4 (2024)

David Lord, a guitarist and composer known for his distinctive approach to composition and improvisation, has gained recognition in major music publications like Downbeat, NPR, and All About Jazz. Collaborating with notable musicians such as Chad Taylor, Jeff Parker, and Devin Hoff, Lord has recorded four albums under his own name—*Forest Standards Vol. 1-4*—produced at Chris Schlarb’s BIG EGO Studios. The albums showcase diverse instrumentation, including flutes, marimbas, saxophones, and vibraphones, with contributions from prominent jazz and indie musicians.

Before his solo career, Lord released 15 albums under the name Francis Moss and with various bands, including The Wonder Revolution and Solagget. His music is deeply rooted in nature, incorporating an extended Lydian polychordal system inspired by forest ecosystems, fungi, and organic growth patterns.
