Rough Around the Edges is a brief, eight-song collection of songs Vern Gosdin recorded in the early '80s for A.M.I. that concentrates on ballads like "When Love Was All We Had" and "Lovin' You is Music to My Mind." Since it only contains eight songs, the album can't be anything more than a sampler, yet it showcases his vocal skills quite effectively.
