Antonio Zambrini, Eliot Zigmund, Carmelo Leotta feat. Pietro Tonolo - Long Distance (2012)

A new trio starring three great musicians of the Italian and International scene. Zigmund having written important pages of music side by side with Bill Evans (1975-1979), Michel Petrucciani, Palle Daniellson. Antonio Zambrini is excellent pianist and composer who has been successful for the the beauty and the poetic vein of his songs.Carmelo Leotta, bassist of great talent already alongside of Bobby Durham, Jimmy Cobb, Archie Shepp, Fabrizio Bosso, Boltro … The trio was borned in 2011 after a European tour and decides to create a project where the experience and the crystalline class of Zigmund merge with the poetic and lyrical flair of Antonio Zambrini and the rhythmic talent of Leotta. Tradition and modernity served by a strong melodic sense and original. The formula of “ piano trio” is reformulated to meet the challenges of the new millennium. Interpretation of some standards of jazz tradition and focus on some original songs of great impact.
