The Robbs were 3 brothers from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Oldest David Donaldson (aka Dee Robb) on guitar & vocals, George Donaldson (aka Joe Robb) also on guitar & vocals, and youngest Robert Donaldson (aka Bruce Robb) on keyboards & vocals. They had a number of drummers until enlisting Craig Krampf (aka Craig Robb) who was assumed to be (but wasn't) their cousin. They were discovered by Dick Clark who installed them as regulars on his TV programs, American Bandstand and Where The Action Is, Clark also helped them to get a recording contract with Mercury Records. The band only recorded one album under the Robbs name. For all their efforts, none of their releases ever cracked the national charts top 100.
They later made bigger names for themselves as producers and engineers for Rod Stewart, John Cougar Mellencamp, Stereolab, Alice Cooper and Steely Dan to name a few. Mostly their production activities are credited to The Robb Brothers, after founding Cherokee Studios in California.
