Cisco Herzhaft - Roots & B4 (2025)

A 12 tracks blues and folk album, eight original compositions by Cisco Herzhaft, one of which has a French text written and rapped by Ismaël Metis. Six tracks are firmly anchored in an acoustic blues tradition, with harmonica guitar and percussion, and six others are enhanced with the B4 formula (Blues & BeatBox Band) by a human beatboxer and a double bass. It ranges from "lowdown" blues to boogie woogie, with traditional folk escapades or written on recent events. Cisco handles his guitars and banjo with his precise and spirited fingerpicking and slide on two tracks. Geneviève Dartevelle, the only Belgian harmonica player, makes her harmonica sounds twirl as usual. MicFlow on human beatbox, Stéphane Bihan on double bass and François Taillefer on percussion create sustained and original rhythms.
