Snorre Kirk’s quartet, formed in 2023, features Giacomo Smith (alto saxophone), Joe Webb (piano), and Anders Fjeldsted (bass), marking his primary project. Their first release, *WHAT A DAY!*, showcases swinging jazz with a classic yet fresh approach. The album includes contributions from rhythm guitarist Alexander Bouton, reminiscent of Freddie Green’s role in Count Basie’s band.

Kirk, influenced by Ellington, Basie, and Earl Hines, values historical breadth in his music while maintaining originality. His compositions blend melody, swing, and blues, with a subtle, supportive drumming style. His previous album, *TOP DOG*, topped JazzWeek’s U.S. radio charts in 2024.
